On November 29,1946, Don Bradman was playing his first test in eight years. The 38 year old had decided that if he doesn’t get a hundred in the mtach he would retire. When he was at 28 runs, he tried to guide a delivery from Bill Voce from outside off-stump, wide of slips, there’s contact and the ball goes at chest height to the second slip and Jack Ikin catches it. But the umpire called it “not out”. and after that Bradman makes 187 and Austrailia wins by an innings and Don Bradman plays for 2 more years.

It was out, he had chopped the ball into the ground off the bottom edge and it went to Ikin. The umpire saw dust and thought it was a bump ball. If the same match was played today and the same thing would have happened, then there would be playback from three camera angles and a snickometer.

Cricket was once a game of glorious uncertainity. But technology has made it more certain. Line calls like stumpings and run outs are 100 percent accurate. LBW’s are no longer given when the ball pitches outside leg. Hawkeye type programmes determine if a ball would hit the stumps-six cameras track the trajectory of the ball as it leaves the bowlers hand. The line is projected with far more accuracy than by the unaided eye.

Hawkeye style methods are also useful for working out wagon wheels and bowlers lines. Hawkeye was written by a Canadian firm. In cricket there is the additional unpredictable element of deviation after pitching which can’t be gamed yet.

Umpiring isn’t the only where technology has changed cricket. There’s been a sea-change in bats, for instance. Bat makers make “lasts” of players handspans, much as custom shoemakers do with feet. They mould carbon composite handles to fit. Then they cut and press wood to exact specifications using computerized tools to give the desired balance.

Helmets, gloves and pads are other areas of innovation. Every batsman and short leg fielder wants the lightest helmet with the best peripheral vision and the best protection.

The latest trend is developing scouting and auctioning software. At one level, cricket remains a simple game. Sehwag goes out, sees ball and hits ball. But behind scenes, the complexity keeps growing. The next Sehwag maybe some unknown kid from Chhattisgarh village, picked up by a scouting programme and outfitted with customized equipment. The next Mendis could be a double jointed kid pinpointed by searching medical records.

This is how technology has changed sport-cricket. And this maybe the starting, in future there would be no umpires, better bats and balls. The technology would just change sports.

The game is great and is developed and published by ubisoft. It is made for PS3, XBOX 360 and PC and its price is 2499 Rs. The rating of the game is 4/5. It is much better than Assassin Creed. The story is great and it is about a boy called Ezio. I will not tell you the story because if i tell you, you will not enjoy the game. The game has many challenges and there is good thing that if you get bored with one challenge you can play another one. The activities in the game are very smooth and instinctive. The Italy in it is great designed, it is like an open world. The game is far better than its first part. Whoever liked the first part cannot dislike its second part. The story takes very surprising turns and thats very cool. You feel like to play more to know the story, thats why i didn’t tell the story. A GREAT GAME, MUST PLAY…

The game is developed by turn 10 and the publisher is microsoft. it is released only on Xbox 360 and it’s cost is Rs.2,499. it has got rated 4/5. It is a racing sim, the most noticeable feature is that it can rewind few seconds of the race. it offers a variety of assists, it has automatic braking, traction control and overlays that suggest when and where you should slow down. there are 400 cars available in the start but you have to earn enough money to buy them. It has awesome race tracks, detailed modeling and the ability to paint whatever you like on your car. There is in car cockpit view which is really great. sometimes the game loads slowly. Overall the game is great.

Tekken 6

Tekken 6 is released and is developed by Namco and published by Namco Bandai. Its released in PS3, Xbox 360 and PSP and the price of the game is 3999 in all the three platforms. It got a rating of 3/5 . It’s a quite a good game, it has 42 characters in it. There is a story mode also in Tekken 6 which is quite boring. They have improved the graphics of it and they have improved the game also. The arenas are also very well made and its actually fun playing in those arena. The loading speed of it is really slow. The characters designed wonderfully. The arcade mode is fun playing, better than story mode. The story mode is seriously bad and overall the game is good.

Dell releases new phone

Dell has released new phone called The Dell mini 3. It is a keyboard less touchscreen phone, it uses Google Android operating system. It was launched in China and will also be available in Brazil later this year.In china, Mini 3 will be part of China Mobile’s forthcoming Ophone line, made to rival iPhone. Dell didn’t release technical specifications for the mini 3, but said it sports a 3.5 inch high definition screen and a great sound quality for listening to music or watching videos without headphones. It uses a touchscreen keyboard instead of a physical one.
